How to get into Thomas’s Group Prep Schools
We’re here to help you and your child navigate the admissions process from start to finish
Are you looking to get your child into Thomas’s Group prep schools? Find out everything you need to know about the school itself, as well as the entry requirements, and how you can help your child succeed.
Introduction to Thomas’s Group
Thomas’s London Day Schools Group is the most successful prep school group in London. It consists of four co-educational prep schools located in Battersea, Kensington, Fulham, and Clapham.
The schools are notoriously popular due to their kind ethos and academic success. The group is family fun, and their motto and number one rule is to ‘be kind’. The atmosphere is happy and stimulating, and the children will develop essential skills and habits of a growth mindset.
Thomas’s Group Open Days
Thomas’s Group schools offer a number of tours each term for parents. This is where visitors will have the opportunity to hear a talk from the Head, meet senior teachers, and join the Head and Admissions staff for questions.
You can contact the Admissions Department at your chosen school location for more details and book a school visit.
Entry into Thomas’s Group Schools
Children may be registered for entry into Reception when they are between the ages of one and two. Reception classes usually consist of 22 pupils.
Entry to other years is dependent on places becoming available during the course of the academic year. The schools will then assess children on their lists for places as they arise. This includes Year 1 to Year 6.
If you wish to enter your child at 11+, there are approximately 40 places available for Year 7 at Thomas’s Battersea and a further 5 to 10 places at Thomas’s Clapham.
Preparing for the 7 Plus Exams
Preparation for the 7 plus exam is essential. We offer 7 Plus mock papers, to allow your child to familiarise themselves with the tests that are used at various prep schools. You can also browse our 7 Plus reading list to see all the essential texts your child should be reading in order to achieve success in the 7 Plus.
