Our goal is to: encourage your child to develop a healthy work ethic; boost their ability to solve problems confidently and quickly; and help them gain a solid understanding of the more challenging aspects of the 11+ syllabus and exam technique.
Your child’s 11+ exam success will depend on how well they can find solutions to problems and express their ideas fluently. We recognise that schools are looking for children who can demonstrate an intelligent approach, rather than repeat memorised information.
Our courses will help your child prepare for these new-style exams. They are developed by leading 11+ academics and lessons are delivered by highly experienced independent school teachers with outstanding track records of 11+ success. The focus will be on consolidating the key higher level 11+ skills and technique required for competitive entrance exams. Our students regularly gain places at Alleyn’s, JAGS, Dulwich College, GDST, KCS, Godolphin & Latymer, Highgate, St Paul’s and many more.
The summer term is a critical time to ensure your child has a solid understanding of the 11+ syllabus and exam technique. It is vital during the lockdown that you keep the momentum going, to avoid slipping behind or last-minute panic, which can have a negative impact on your child.
“ I wanted to let you know my daughter has been offered places at both her first choice schools – Alleyn’s and JAGS! I can’t thank you enough for the workshops and detailed advice (and counselling!). Your teachers raised the game way beyond the level that she was being prepared for at her school “. Easter Course 2019

Who will benefit? These Group sessions are designed for Year 5 students working towards 11+ exams and pre-tests in the Autumn and New Year. Small group learning gives you cost effective access to the very best tutors, and a very small class size will provide plenty of individual attention. At this stage in the calendar it is essential you continue to focus on 11+ preparation at a steady pace, to avoid your child falling behind or a last minute panic – which can be very stressful.
Who will be teaching the lessons? Our Groups tutor is an all-round 11+ expert. Robert is a very engaging and dynamic tutor, which translates extremely well online. He has ten years of experience preparing 11+ 13+ students for a list of top schools including Eton (King’s Scholarship), Westminster, Tonbridge, King’s, Latymer, Dame Alice Owens, Alleyn’s, Dulwich, Highgate, Haberdashers’ Aske’s, UCS, and City. He consistently improves results for pupils, gaining their first-choice schools, and on a number of occasions, scholarship offers. Aside from tuition he is a published author, actor and keen sportsman.

Who will teach the course? This course is prepared and taught by a recent Head of Year 6 Maths at one of London’s most prestigious prep schools. Our teacher, Charles, also held overall responsibility for the 11+ performance of Year 6 and improved the school’s success rate at the most competitive entrance exams by 300%. Charles has extensive online teaching experience and is working successfully with many of our families online during the coronavirus lockdown.
What topics are covered?
Nothing is quite like your first school exam. It can be a daunting prospect.
Mentor Education mock exams will help familiarise your child with a formal exam setting under timed conditions, helping to ease some of the anxiety on the big day. A maximum of 12 children will sit these exams over the course of three months. Each exam will consist of three papers (Maths, English and Reasoning) which increase in difficulty over the months. The papers will replicate the academic level required by competitive London day schools. Following each exam our examiner will mark and write a report which will include last-minute revision tips and detailed advice on specific areas that need attention.
