Intensive Literacy and Mathematics Coaching for 4 Plus
Some of the most competitive schools, such as Highgate in Hampstead or Alleyn’s in Dulwich, are building in more academic attainment testing. There are exercises around literacy and mathematical understanding. These are often profoundly misunderstood by parents who, for example, can believe that counting is something to do with mathematics when actually it is really just a form of rote learning and so not relevant. Literacy can also be mistaught with parents not understanding or knowing their own phonics sounds and so misteaching children.
In order to help pass these most competitive schools we are running intensive attainment based weeks in the summer and in October. In order to attend these courses you must be invited to do so following a successful assessment or coaching process. You can book these here. The most important attribute is to have the ability to learn and have some of the skills needed to be ready for school and so children who have not got to this stage will not benefit from this teaching.
These sessions are conducted 1-2-1 and last for an hour. Children need to attend every day for a week as the programme does build. Half of the time is spend on maths and half on literacy. We have clear milestones which we know that your child much get to in order to pass these exams and we will get your child there.
Given the specialist nature of the teaching, we can only guarantee staffing for two teachers in each location so there are limited slots so, if this programme is suitable for you, please book early.
