Increasingly schools are using a group interview stage to help them discern between candidates. Traditional interview formats allow schools to see whether children have bright idea. The group exercise allows them to see whether they can get that point across in a way which is effective. In addition, in our experience, schools are also simply trying to get through a volume of applicants in a more efficient process and wrapping this up with the virtues of group assessment. As a leading 11 plus specialists we are able to put together mock groups assessments for 11 plus applicants.

Mentor it is always about great teaching and the Groups Interview Course is delivered by our Director of Education, Gill Cross. Until last year, Gill was Deputy Head of one of the Girls’ Day School Trust schools, responsible for admissions. Her expertise means that she is a master of 11+ entrance prep. The programme was developed in conjunction with Mary Lonsdale, author of the best selling book “How to Pass the 11 Plus”.

Our programme includes both a group exercise based on the actual format of 11 plus interviews at the top independent schools in London. Afterwards you get a telephone consultation with our Director of Education with detailed feedback about how your child did and what they can do to improve next time.
