Schools are increasingly using a group interview stage to help them discern between school entrance candidates. Traditional one to one interviews allow schools to see whether children have bright ideas. The group exercise allows them to see whether children can collaborate, have good behaviours in groups, and can communicate in a way which is effective. Schools are looking for maturity, compliance, manners and taking turns in group settings. As leading school entrance specialists we are able to put together school specific mock groups assessments for 7 plus and 11 plus applicants.

Our Group Interview courses are delivered by our Director of Education, Lauren Spring. Until last year, Lauren was Head of Maths at a prestigious prep school in North London with responsibility for 11+ results. This experience means that she is an expert at 7 Plus and 11 Plus interview preparation. Our Interview Mastery programmes were developed in conjunction with Mary Lonsdale, author of the best selling book “How to Pass the 11 Plus”.

Our group day will copy the format of an actual group task from the previous year at a top independent school in London. It will typically include a group discussion and/ or a group task. 7 Plus group interviews often also include a class room based lesson activity. Afterwards, our Director of Education will call you with detailed feedback about how your child performed and what they can do to improve next time.
