Interview Mastery Course 7+, 11+ and 13+


Our Interview Mastery Course has been put together to make sure that your child doesn’t stumble at the final hurdle. Schools are now seeing interviews as a critical part of the evaluation process. They focus on your child as an individual and assess whether they are a fit for them as a school. However don’t worry, interviewing is a teachable skill. We have a bespoke programme and a genuine expert in the school entrance. Who can help therefore help your child master their interview.

We are now taking bookings for our Interview Mastery Course. This is designed for pupils sitting 7+, 11+ or 13+ entrance assessments this year.  

The Interview Mastery course will provide your child with an excellent understanding of the interview process. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently present their best self. Being able to answer often challenging questions is important. However, it is also important to be able to answer basic questions such as ‘Why do you want to come to this school.’ Learning how to answer these questions in a pragmatic way whilst still showing personality is essential. Our educational team are experts at just that.

Mentor it is always about great teaching and the Interview Mastery Course is delivered by our Director of Education, Gill Cross. Until last year, Gill was Deputy Head of one of the Girls’ Day School Trust schools, responsible for admissions. Her expertise means that she is a master of 11+ entrance prep. The programme was developed in conjunction with Mary Lonsdale, author of the best selling book “How to Pass the 11 Plus”.

What is the Interview Mastery Course

The Interview Mastery course consists of three one-to-one sessions: two one-hour familiarisation and practice sessions; a mock interview session. 

  • Session 1 – one hour: How to create a positive first impression. Some top tips for mastering interviews, and eight key interview topics.
  • Session 2 – one hour: Learning how to tackle activities and tasks designed to assess critical thinking. Also, problem solving, creativity, individuality, and mental agility.
  • Session 3 – one hour: A Mock interview session and verbal feedback to the pupil (10 minutes).
